Bowling 2009-HQ

Venue: U Bowl, 1 Utama, Bandar Utama.

There were 35 teams playing today with 4 team members. On Friday, Azni had picked up the game t'shirt from the organiser for each team member.

My team, 4Pins, consist of Azni, Grace, Fun and msyelf. Fun drove me and Grace to 1 Utama, which she picked me up in front of office at 8:46 AM and then picked up Grace at her home. It was bright and sunny day. Along the way, we knew who will be going to the game by the t'shirt they wore.

It took us 20 minutes to reach the venue and finding a parking lot was easy as it was still too early in the morning that the shopping mall was not crowded yet. We registered ourselves and waited for Azni who was still at Shah Alam. We picked up one bowling ball each but since there a lot staff already there, most bowls had been picked up already. And we took one for Azni, just in case there shortage of bowls as she will reached here very late.

Azni reached there at about 10:00 AM, just before the start of the game. If not we should had been disqualified. The organiser delayed the start for some other late comers as well. The first game, we had scored nicely at 393 points. But looking at the scores from the lanes next to us, I knew we had to work hard. But the score the 2nd game was bad and the third one also was bad as well.

We knew that we were not expecting to win anything, but we looked foreward to the lucky draw. I looked at the place where the prizes were kept and there 5-6 hampers, so there might be some outside chance of getting the lucky drw prize. We ate lunch after we ended our games. the food was good and provided by the organiser. After that the result annouced, we knew that the winner were the strong teams from previous year, scoring over 1600 and over 1800. After that it was the lucky draw for 3 lucky staff only.

Before the end, our team had left the venue feeling tired. Grace and Fun went shopping at the mall, whilst Azni dropped me off at Kelana Jaya.

Overall, the games was well organised. The venue was not the best --- most probably the organiser were trying out a new place. Anyhow, the food was good. A major failing was that the organiser did not gave any cup or medal to the winners, nor gave out any door gift as a momento of the event. The winners did get some cash reward as well as the hamper.

Family Day Northern Region

Venue : Bukit Jawi Resort

A family day for Northern Region was held recently and our finance staff, Nor Azni was there to give a helping hand. She said there were a lot of fun but tiring. She was there the regional meeting and then continue on to assist in the program.

There were such programs being held from region to region. It was a good way to enjoy ourselves and be treated as a family and not just as a staff.
